The idea for Global Connect was sparked on what was meant to be the adventure of a lifetime. Our co-founders, Leander and Tobias, had meticulously planned the ultimate road trip, driving all the way from Norway down to the vibrant landscapes of Morocco.

As they arrived in Barcelona, full of excitement but also feeling a moment of solitude at a local bar, they instinctively pulled out their phones. They searched for an app that could connect them with other travelers, specifically fellow Norwegians they could share experiences with, or simply introduce them to like-minded people enjoying the same journey.

To their surprise, there was nothing. No platform truly existed to bridge that gap and facilitate spontaneous, authentic connections with other travelers or locals from their home country.

That moment of frustration quickly turned into inspiration. If they, as passionate travelers, faced this challenge, countless others must too. What if we could create a solution? What if we could build the app we desperately needed?

The rest, as they say, is history. That realization in Barcelona became the catalyst for Global Connect – an app born from the road, designed to ensure no traveler ever feels disconnected again. We set out to build the platform where your next great adventure, and your next great connection, is always just a tap away.
